The opening of the first Technology Incubation Center established under the Programme for the Establishment of Technology Incubation Centers being implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology was held on yesterday (23) at the Vavuniya University Park Road premises under the patronage of the Minister of Science and Technology, Professor Chrishantha Abeysena, and the Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Sunil Handunnetti.

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate alleged irregularities at the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has commenced calling for public complaints and information relating to the period from 2010 to 2025. The Commission will examine alleged acts of corruption, fraud, criminal breach of trust, abuse or misuse of power, government resources and privileges, unlawful recruitments and appointments, violations of procurement guidelines, irregularities in the leasing or renting of movable and immovable properties, legal actions and settlements carried out outside due process, as well as any serious losses or damage caused to State assets or revenue as a result of such actions.
