Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that this government and the cabinet of ministers are well capable of discharging duties without being a burden to the country and that of it can be confidently stated that the corruption, fraud, and destruction have been completely halted.
The ‘Siri Dalada Vandanawa’, a special veneration of the Sacred Tooth Relic, will commence today (18) after 16 years. President Anura Kumara Disanayake, along with Ambassadors, High Commissioners and other diplomats representing several countries, is expected to participate in the inaugural event.
The Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha, a unique national heritage that represents the identity of Theravada Buddhism to the entire world, is not only the crowning jewel of the Buddhist population in Sri Lanka but also a revered and venerated sacred relic that commands immense respect from people across the globe.

The oil anointing ceremony for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year was held on April 16 at the historic Rajamaha Viharaya in Kolonnawa, with the participation of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.

The National Ceremony to celebrate the Sinhala and Tamil New Year was held on April 14, at the residence of Attorney-at-Law Mr. Saman Leelarathna in Pahala Bomiriya, Kaduwela, with the participation of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
