Member of Parliament (Dr.) Nishantha Samaraweera was unanimously elected as the Chair of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) of Parliament. He was appointed when the Committee on Public Enterprises met in Parliament recently for the first session of the Tenth Parliament.

The Secretary-General of Parliament, Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera, stated that over the past two years, more than 200 Student Parliaments have been conducted to bring Parliament closer to the public. She emphasized the importance of continuing initiatives to increase public awareness about the significance of Parliament in safeguarding the country's democratic framework.
The resolution on the Statement of the Government Policy presented by Hon. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Parliament on November 21 was passed unanimously in Parliament today (04) without a vote.
