The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his capacity as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, has promoted Air Vice Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe to the three star rank of Air Marshal with effect from today (29 January 2025) and appointed him as the 20th Commander of the Air Force.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated that the upcoming budget is expected to allocate Rs. 1.35 trillion as government investment capital expenditure, marking the highest amount spent on capital expenditure by a government in recent times.
Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, who will be retired, met with Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and the Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Madura Seneviratne at the Ministry of Education yesterday (28).
