A project to renovate irrigation tanks damaged due to floods in he year 2011 in the Polonnaruwa District  commenced under the patronage of Minister of Lands and Land Development, Siripala Gamlath.  The tanks to be renovated are the Berapitiya  tank,  Beddde wewa, Aruna wewa and Gal Enda wewa.

A one day workshop was held on Monday (07) at the conference hall of the Trincomalee District Secretariat Office.  The aim of the workshop was to explain the objectives  of Divi Neguma Development Project and the responsibilities of Divi Neguma Development Officers.

The Western Province women's football team emerged Champions  at the National Sports Festival when they beat the Southern Province team by 7 goals to 0.  At half time they were leading 3-0.
