On the afternoon of July 1st, kick-off press conference of Sri Lanka Joint Mega Promotion Campaign - “Sri Lanka Shines in Shanghai” was held in Shangri-La Hotel, Pudong, Shanghai. The activity, sponsored by Ministry of Economic Development, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Sri Lanka Embassy in Beijing China and Sri Lanka Consulate in Shanghai, was intended to comprehensively introduce tourism, culture, and economy of Sri Lanka to Chinese people.  

The first ever Sri Lanka-Belarus official trade talks commenced in Colombo on 09 July amidst avowed assertions from both sides towards forging sustainable trade links while making inroads to the huge ‘New Asian; and upcoming Eurasian Union markets. And the first Colombo talks have now paved the way for a prospective future visit of  President of Belarus to Sri Lanka.

Australia’s Minister for Immigration and Border Protection  Scott Morrison called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Port of Colombo this morning following the ceremonial commissioning of the patrol boats that were gifted by the Australian Government to Sri Lanka.
