The Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate alleged irregularities at the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has commenced calling for public complaints and information relating to the period from 2010 to 2025. The Commission will examine alleged acts of corruption, fraud, criminal breach of trust, abuse or misuse of power, government resources and privileges, unlawful recruitments and appointments, violations of procurement guidelines, irregularities in the leasing or renting of movable and immovable properties, legal actions and settlements carried out outside due process, as well as any serious losses or damage caused to State assets or revenue as a result of such actions.
A discussion on addressing challenges in Sri Lanka’s agriculture sector, as well as related environmental issues, under the Memorandum of Understanding on Enhancing China–Sri Lanka Agricultural Productivity, was held this morning (22) at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of the Secretary to the President, Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.
