The railway line between Nanu Oya and Ambewela, damaged by the recent disaster, will be restored without delay with full government support, Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake said.
Out of 14 damaged locations, restoration at 13 has been completed, while work continues near Elgin Falls, with the project expected to be finished by June.
The Minister also noted that the railway line is vital for transport, tourism, and the local economy, and assured that steps will be taken to minimize public inconvenience by completing the remaining work as soon as possible.
