The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has introduced the “Surakimu Lanka School Energy Conservation Programme” with the aim of building a culture of energy conservation within schools.
The programme will be implemented in all schools across the country starting tomorrow (April 9), the Ministry stated. It is designed to improve energy efficiency within the school system while promoting energy security and environmental sustainability.
A new circular has also been issued in this regard. According to the Ministry, the programme should be implemented before the end of the first term school holidays. In cases where this is not practically possible, school principals and heads have been advised to select a suitable alternative date for its implementation.
