Government has decided to extend the three-month concessionary period of the additional charge for delay in applying registration of transfer at the change of possession of motor vehicles.
The three-month concessionary period granted under the approval of the Cabinet expired yesterday (30th Nov.). But, due to the large number of people arriving at the Department of Motor Traffic in this regard causing a very busy situation in department's duties, it has decided to extend the concessionary period upto 31st December.
Proposal made by Nimal Siripala de Silva, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to extend this concessionary period was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
