The Met Dept. predicts that Gulf of Mannar sea area and the deep and shallow sea area off the coast extending from Colombo to Batticaloa via Galle, Hambantota and Pottuvil will be very rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 50-60 kmph at times.
Showers will occur at times in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota. Showers or thundershowers may develop at several places in the sea areas around the island after 4 pm.
Winds will be Southwesterly and speed will be 30-40 kmph.
