A programme to streamline the disposal of garbage in the Hanguranketha, Rikillagaskada and Hewaheta towns was launched jointly by the Hanguranketha Pradeshiya Sabha and the Central Provincial Council.
Accordingly, bins have been put up in the Rikillagaskada, Hewaheta, Hanguranketha and Rahathungoda areas and collection of garbage is being carried out after being classified as decaying and non-decomposing garbage. Decomposing garbage goes through a recycling process.
The Central Environment Authority has incurred 20 million rupees for the above work.
