A candidate for the Executive Presidency should be able to clearly define his stand to the people. But the common candidate does not appear to have a clear idea on the issue. He added that a newspaper reported as its headline on Tuesday (02) that Maithripala Sirisena had stated that he was ready to abolish or amend the Executive Presidency. If he is to be a firm leader he should put forward his ideas to the people whether the Executive Presidency would be abolished or otherwise amended and if so the clauses he would amend.
Also present on this occasion were the Vice President of the UPFA and the Minister for Water Resources Management Nimal Siripala de Silva and Dullas Alahaperuma, the Minister for Youth Affairs and Skills Development. (NJ/KH)
