The Road Development Authority (RDA) under the Ministry of Highways, 'ports and Shipping which is the implementing agency for this project, intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of the above loan to engage, a qualified and experienced general Consulting firm to provide the necessary engineering services for detailed design, tender assistance and construction supervision for this project.

The objective of the above project is to improve the traffic situation around the existing New Kelani Bridge. The project includes construction of another new bridge over Kelani River, Port• Access Road and interchanges at Orugodawattta, Ingurukade and Kelanitissa junctions including improvements, to roads at Orugodawaththa arid Kelanitissa.
