Showers or thundershowers can be expected today at several places in the Eastern, Northern, North-Central, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces after 2.00 p.m. and will spread to the other provinces later.

Showers will occur in the Western province and in the Galle, Matara, Trincomalee and puttalam districts in the morning too.

Fairly heavy falls (above 50 mm) are also likely at some places.

Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
