He was addressing a gathering in Colombo, where he started several development projects under the new government.

According to him, the youth in Colombo would not be allowed to live as taxi drivers or pavement vendors for more due to their education level. "I' have already started a program to provide vocational training opportunities for those who failed the O/L examination. This will eliminate the poverty in this area", he added.

“The unity government led by President Maithripala Sirisena and the Prime Minister RanilWickremesinghe will proceed until 2020”, he added.
