Special Eye Clinic at the National Eye Hospital on Monday

    November 16, 2015

A special eye clinic parallel to the World Diabetes Day will be held today (16) from 8.00.a.m to 12.00.p.m at the National Eye Hospital.

The clinic specially aims to detect the vulnerables for the Diabetic Retinopathy, which is a diabetes complication that affects eyes. Diabetic retinopathy can cause blood vessels in the retina to leak fluid or hemorrhage (bleed), distorting vision.

One of the most common laser treatments is for diabetic retinopathy, in which the laser is used on the retina to stop blood vessel leakage and growth. During the special eye clinic apart from detecting the vulnerability for Diabetic Retinopathy, high-tech laser treatments also will be provided, Eye Hospital sources said.
