Showers will occur at times in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Several spells of showers may occur in the Western and North-Western provinces. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva Province and in the Ampara, Batticaloa and Hambantota districts after 2.00 p.m. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.
Strong winds of about 40–50 kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the Central hills, Northern, North-Central and North-Western provinces, and in the Trincomalee, Monaragala, Hambantota and Matale districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
