A meeting between the Vice Chairman of the Enterprise and Investment Council, Lord Swire, and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya was held at Parliament on February 22.
The discussions focused on investment opportunities in Sri Lanka, with particular emphasis on key sectors including automobile manufacturing and assembly, the energy sector, and fishing boat manufacturing.
Prime Minister Amarasuriya highlighted that the 2025 Budget places significant emphasis on promoting and protecting industries and supporting entrepreneurs.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Sunil Handunnetti, Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Mrs. Pamela Anne O'Leary, Member of the Enterprise and Investment Council, Ms. Nimali de Zoysa, Sri Lankan representative of the Council, and Mr. Deshan Christopher Jayawardena, Country Director of the association.
