Tourist Arrivals Rise 16.2% in February

Sri Lanka recorded a 16.2% increase in tourist arrivals in February 2026 compared to the same month last year, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

The authority stated that 279,328 tourists visited the country during February this year.

Latest data shows that the highest number of visitors arrived from India, with 47,679 tourists. The United Kingdom recorded 30,788 arrivals, followed by Russia with 23,099 visitors. Germany accounted for 22,566 arrivals, while 20,180 tourists came from China and 17,174 from France.

Meanwhile, the total number of tourist arrivals during the first two months of 2026 reached 556,655.

Of that figure, 99,740 visitors were from India, 60,328 from the United Kingdom and 50,233 from Russia, the authority said.
