President Meets United Arab Emirates Leaders

President Anura Kumara Disanayake, who participated in the World Governments Summit 2025 held in the United Arab Emirates, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai on 12th.

The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, as well as Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE.

During the discussions, emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening state-level coordination globally and collaborating on innovative solutions to address economic and developmental challenges.

Sheikh Mohammed praised Sri Lanka's efforts and commitment to enhancing international partnerships and exchanging expertise with global leaders in governance and strategic sectors. He also reaffirmed the UAE's support for further strengthening the remarkable progress achieved in bilateral partnerships over the past few years.

President Anura Kumara Disanayake expressed gratitude to the UAE for its support in developing key sectors in Sri Lanka. He highlighted the significant progress made in investments, trade, and tourism as a result of bilateral relations.

Additionally, the President commended the World Governments Summit's remarkable role in equipping global leaders with the strategic vision required to enhance international partnerships, advance governance practices, and explore new opportunities while addressing challenges.
