The Government has declared August 21, 22 and 23 as national days of mourning following the passing of renowned Sri Lankan musician and singer Dr. Nanda Malini.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has instructed all State institutions to fly the National Flag at half-mast during the three-day period.
The directive has been issued to heads of all relevant government institutions under Home Affairs Circular No. 04/2026.
The circular, dated August 21, 2026, has been signed by Ministry Secretary S. Aloka Bandara.
