The Welfare Benefits Board has announced that the March allowance for senior citizens aged over 70 under the Aswesuma welfare benefits scheme has been credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts today (26).
Under the first phase of the programme, a total of 622,462 elderly beneficiaries will receive the allowance, with Rs. 3,112,310,000 allocated for this purpose. In the second phase, 71,339 beneficiaries over the age of 70 are set to receive Rs. 356,695,000.
Beneficiaries can access their Aswesuma payments through their respective bank accounts from today.
