A business delegation from Pakistan met with the Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne today (18). The delegation, which included prominent businessmen from the pharmaceutical, food, and IT sectors, engaged in discussions aimed at further strengthening of bilateral trade relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
The delegation extended its congratulations and best wishes to Speaker Dr. Wickramaratne and the government of Sri Lanka, expressing their support for the country’s ongoing progress and success. They highlighted the long-standing trade relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan and emphasized their commitment to further strengthening these ties for mutual benefit.
During the meeting, Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne highlighted that Sri Lanka offers a stable and conducive environment for business operations. He invited the business delegation to consider investing in Sri Lanka, emphasizing the importance of deepening cooperation between the two countries particularly in the trade and tourism sectors.
Speaker also took the opportunity to recall the warm hospitality extended to the Sri Lankan delegation during their recent visit to Pakistan for the 1st Joint CPA Asia and South-East Asia Regional Conference.
Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvie Salih, Deputy Minister of National Integration Mohamed Muneer, Member of Parliament Chithral Fernando, Secretary General of Parliament Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera and Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Lahore, Mr. Yasin Joyia were also present during the meeting.
