President says participating in the 82nd STF Passing Out Parade
A meeting between President Anura Kumara Disanayake and representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was held this morning (07) at the Presidential Secretariat.
A group of students from Rahula College, Matara visited the Presidential Secretariat and the President’s House today (07).
The special Sri Lankan Medical and Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief Team for Myanmar arrived in Yangon International Airport on Saturday (April 05). This special team of tri forces personnel left the island yesterday with a stock of medical supplies and humanitarian aid, in a special flight following a presidential instruction by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and under the supervision of the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd).
- Central Bank Presents Annual Economic Review 2024 to President
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka today (07) presented its flagship publication, the Annual Economic Review for 2024 (AER 2024), to President and Minister of Finance, Anura Kumara Disanayake, highlighting the steady progress of Sri Lanka’s economic recovery following the country’s most severe downturn in recent history.

Heavy rainfall of above 100 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva and North-central provinces and in Ampara district.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and North-central provinces during the morning.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
On the apparent northward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05th to 14th of April in this year. The nearest areas of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (07th) are Colombo, Awissawella, Talawakelle, Dimbula, Galakumbura and Dambagalla at about 12:12 noon.

Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi departed today (06) from Air Force Base Anuradhapura concluding his State visit to Sri Lanka. The Indian Premier embarked on a tour to Sri Lanka following an invitation from President Anura Kumara Disanayake.
The upgraded Maho–Omanthai railway line and newly installed Maho–Anuradhapura railway signalling system were officially inaugurated today (06) by President Anura Kumara Disanayake and Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
A consignment of Sri Lankan books from Sri Lanka National Library and Documentation Services Board were officially handed over to the National Library Board of Singapore recently at the Central Public Library section premises.
