The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Vienna, and the members of the Sri Lankan expatriate community participated in the United Nations Christmas Charity Bazaar held at the Austria Centre in Vienna on 1st and 2nd of December 2017. This Bazaar is an annual event organized by the United Nations Women’s Guild.
The Embassy had a stall at the Bazaar, which sold Sri Lanka tea, handicrafts, spices and handlooms. A food stall had also been set up, where hot spicy delicacies as well as sweet delights from Sri Lanka were available. Sri Lankan food was very popular among the visitors.
Eighty countries participated in the Bazaar and its proceeds would be donated to the United Nations Children’s’ Fund (UNICEF).
