Philip Hammond replaces William Hague in UK cabinet

    July 18, 2014

Phillip Hammond has been appointed new UK Foreign Secretary. He succeeds William Hague. This appointment has been made following a reshuffle in the UK Cabinet made by Prime Minister David Cameron.

Tuesday's reshuffle is the biggest since Mr Cameron's Conservative-led coalition government took power in 2010 and marks a bid to broaden his party's appeal ahead of the election.

Extra women have also been included in the cabinet of 22 ministers. (KH)
