Viknaraj Voxon from Talawakele has made history by winning the senior category at the South Asian Cross Country Championship held in Pakistan.
Representing Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Army, he secured the gold medal in his first-ever international competition, becoming the first South Asian champion in the event.
Sri Lanka’s success continued in the junior category, with Shivagaran Thudiharshithan of Matale Hindu College claiming the silver medal in the under-20 division, marking a proud moment for the nation in cross-country athletics.
