Sri Lanka Tusker Rugby Team Departs for Crucial Asian Rugby Championship Clash Against South Korea

Sri Lanka’s national rugby team, the Sri Lanka Tusker, departed for South Korea late on June 10 to participate in the crucial third-round match of the 2026 Asian Men’s Rugby Championship.

The match will be held at the Namdong Asian Rugby Stadium in South Korea, where Sri Lanka is scheduled to face the host nation in a key encounter that could significantly influence their progress in the championship.

The fixture is considered highly important for Sri Lanka’s advancement in the tournament as well as for improving its international rugby rankings.

Sri Lankan players, who have been competing strongly against top Asian teams such as Hong Kong and South Korea, are aiming to further elevate the country’s standing on the international rugby stage.
