    Sri Lanka Cricket ExCo Decisions

    The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket at a meeting held on Monday (01)has  decided to fill the vacancies of the Coaching department due to the recent vacuum that was created with experienced and qualified persons at the earliest.

     

    ExCo appointed an 8 member committee to evaluate and short list the applicants and to nominate the appropriate candidate for the vacant positions.


    The committee comprises of Asanga Seneviratne, Mohan De Silva, Nishantha Ranatunga, Hirantha Perera, Nuski Mohamed, Sanath Jayasuriya, Jayananda Warnaweera, Shammi Silva, Dushan Soyza, Ranjit Fernando, and Head of Coaching Jerome Jayaratne.

     

    SLC has received 17 applications for the post of National Coach - 01 local and 16 foreign, 17 applications for the post of Fielding Coach - 2 local and 15 foreign and 15 applications for the post of National Trainer - 02 local and 13 foreign.


    ExCo has also approved the purchase of new vehicles to replace the vehicles which are more than 7 years old to provide vehicles category wise to the Managers as per the policy document submitted by the CEO.


    At the meeting EXCO approved the Australian Under 19  tour to Sri Lanka in September 2014.

     

    As per the request made by ECB, the ExCo approved the England Performance Program  camp to be carried out in Colombo from 22nd November to 10th December 2014 by assigning player to Premier Clubs at the cost of ECB. EXCO was of the opinion that this will provide an opportunity for the club players to gain experience and exposure of interacting with foreign players.


    ExCo  further has approved the request made by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to host the Afghanistan, U.A.E.  Nepal and Hong Kong Teams at the cost of ACC in order to support the non test playing countries in the region.(KH)
