    Parliament adjourned until 9.30am Tuesday Featured

    A tense situation arose in the Parliament Monday morning when United Peoples Freedom Alliance MP Dinesh Gunawardena questioned the government over Former President Rajapaksa being summoned before the Bribery Commission.

    MP Gunawardena requested the government to halt the move and heated argument broke out between the opposition and Ministers subsequently.

     

    The Speaker of House Chamal Rajapaksa adjourned the session until 9:30 tomorrow morning after a group of Opposition parliamentarians sat on the floor of the chamber in protest.

     

    Meanwhile, a letter signed by 55 Opposition parliamentarians against Former President Rajapaksa being summoned to the Bribery Commission was handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena.
