    President hands over Open Display Boards build for street artists

    President Maithripala Sirisena handed over the Open Display Boards established at Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha in Colombo to the street artists, on Wednesday (20th Dec.). This step was taken with the aim of strengthening the street artists who are trying to stand on their own feet.

     

    This event was jointly organized by the Sri Lanka Tourism Board, Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government, Colombo Municipal Council and the Association of Street Artists.

     

    After observing the Open Display Boards opened for each street artist, the President participated in the ceremony that followed.

     

    A portrait of the President created by a member Lakshman Dissanayake of the Association by black chalk presented to President Sirisena by the President of Association of Street Artists A.C. Nuwan.

     

    Director General of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Malraj B. Kiriella presented a book on street artists to the President.
