Distribution of land deeds to 60 temples in 16 districts in parallel to the UN International Vesak day celebration was held at the Presidential Secretariat on 5th April under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
Land deeds were offered to the settled incumbent monks and junior monks to assure the safety of the temples in government lands following the Land Settlement Ordinance on this occasion.
Ministry of Buddha Sasana and the Department of Buddhist Affairs with the support of Ministry of Lands and Land Commissioner General organized this program following the instructions given by the President.
