The book was written by a former Assistant Director of the Department of Archaeology,  Sirisaman Wijethunga.

Addressing the gathering the President said the great historian Prof. Paranavitana had won the honor of the entire nation as a great human being, scholar and intellectual even though he did not received university education.

President pointed out that "by reading the biographies of the characters likes Prof. Paranavitana the younger generations can learn many things".

Ven. Thiniyawala Palitha Thera , Dr Shiran Deraniyagala, Director-General of the Department of Archaeology, Dr. Senarath Dissanayake, Director General, Central Cultural Fund, Prof. J.B Dissanayake were also present at the occasion.
