The staff of the Ministry of Posts donated one day's pay to be deposited in the National Kidney Fund established in line with the sustainable program to control kidney disease, according to a concept of the President Maithripala Sirisena.
Accordingly a cheque for Rs 609, 885, was presented to the President Maithripala Sirisena on Friday (Dec.11) by the Minister of Posts, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs Abdul Haleem Mohamad Hashim Deputy Minister Dullip Wijesekera, Secretary to the Ministry Wimalasiri Perera, Post Master General Rohana Abeyrathne were among those present on the occasion.
