      Vaccination in Sri Lanka successful comparing to developed countries in the World – Ambassador of Egypt

    Comparing to many developed countries in the world, the vaccination program of Sri Lanka is more successfully and speedily continuing, Ambassador of Egypt in Sri Lanka Hussein El Saharty said.


    The ambassador who met Health Minister Dr Keheliya Rambukwella at the latter’s Ministry Sept; (27) told the Minister that the ongoing vaccination program in the country should be
    hailed.

    He further said that Egypt is manufacturing Sinovac, and in addition other medications to treat COVID-19 related complications. Attention will be drawn to implement a productive program on medicine through a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries in the future, and Ambassador Saharty requested the Minister to take action to continue the existing friendship and relations between Egypt and Sri Lanka.

    Responding to the Ambassador, Health Minister Dr Keheliya Rambukwella said the vaccination campaign in this country is successfully operating, and close attention has been drawn to the vaccination of groups between the ages of 20 to 29. He said the Government is studying whether to consider a Full Vaccinated Card compulsory at entry points of public places.


    Ministry Secretary Major General Dr Sanjeeva Munasinghe, and Health Services Director General Dr Asela Gunawardana were also present.
