    It is our responsibility to enforce laws in accordance with the basic law of the land – Cabinet Spokesman Minister Keheliya Rambukwella

    Cabinet Spokesman, Minister of Mass Media Keheliya Rambukwella states that proper implementation of the Provincial Council elections by the current government is not influenced by any outer source but based on the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution of Sri Lanka (13A) which emphasizes that it is the responsibility and duty of the present government to properly implement the laws that should be enacted in the country in accordance with the basic law of the land.

    The Minister said this responding to a question asked by a journalist during the Cabinet decision media briefing held today (16) at the Department of Government Information.

    Minister Rambukwella further mentioned the current government ensures to rectify the shortcomings of the programs carried out in the recent past to protect the rights of the people and to uphold the basic law of the land.

    He reiterated that the decision to hold provincial council elections is not influenced by any other country’s national interests.
