    Group of SL refugees arrive today Featured

    A group of 75- Sri Lankans who left for India as refugees during the war will return to the country today (9th Aug.) from Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, and Madras.


    The group includes 43 males and 32 females belonging to 28 families, who lived in Mannar, Jaffna, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Trincomalee, and Mulativu districts.


    The Ministry of Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs, following the instructions of the Minister D.M.Swaminathan has already arranged the necessary transportation facilities for the group.


     “They will be provided with six-month supply of dry rations, and immediate action will be taken by the ministry to resettle them in their original lands”, said the Secretary to the Ministry Mr. Sivagnanajothy.
