The “Ehi Passiko” peace walk, organized to promote global peace, commenced this morning (22) from the premises of the Dambulla Rajamaha Viharaya.
Covering nearly 45 kilometers within the day, the walk successfully concluded its first leg at the Aluvihare Rock Temple.
Along the route, thousands of devotees joined in to pay their respects to the participating monks and others. In a remarkable display of devotion and unity, they spread banana leaves along the road to ease the journey and sprinkled cool water to reduce the heat.
These acts were widely seen as a reflection of peace, compassion, and religious harmony demonstrated throughout the event.
