CEAT Kelani Holdings, a passenger car radial tyre production facility was opened by Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa recently. This is a a joint venture between India’s RPG Group and Sri Lanka’s Kelani Tyre, established at a cost of Rs.600 million.
It was a day for former National Football Players to meet one another when they participated at the Ex National Football players friendly matches and later at the get together held at Baddagana FFSL Complex on Sunday (15).
S. Chandralingam commonly known as “Chandra Mama” has served in the FFSL for over 25 years since 1989 to date. He served in many departments including many years in Competition Department Referees and Finance Department and lastly was the coordinator for Senior and Junior Leagues tournaments with Competitions Department. Recently he concluded the Senior Inter-League tournament with success with 54 teams and was just about to kick off the Junior under 19 League tournament with 65 teams.
We must remind ourselves that when social structures are dismantled by external intervention without regard for local tradition and values, the inevitable result is total anarchy, Events which are unfolding in many parts of the world, as we meet here, amply illustrate this reality, said President Rajapaksa.
