The sea area extending from Puttalam to Kankesanturai via Mannar and Matara to Batticaloa via Hambantota will be fairly rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times, the Met Dept. said.
Also showers or thunder showers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle as well as at most places in the sea areas around the island after 2.00 pm. The sea areas around the island may be temporarily very rough during thundershowers the Met Dept. added.
Winds will be South-westerly and speed will be 20-40 kmph.
