The Met Dept. requests Naval and fishing communities to be vigilant as deep and shallow sea areas around the island will be very rough at times with strong southwesterly wind up to 70-80 kmp/h at times.
Also Showers or thunder showers will occur at times over the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle while Showers or thundershowers will develop at several places in the other sea areas around the island after 4.00 pm.
Winds will be Southwesterly and speed will be 40-50 kmph.
