The Met Dept. issuing its weather forecast for tomorrow (Sept.10) said sea areas around the island are expected to be temporary very rough during thundershowers as the winds can temporally strengthen up to 70-80 kmph .
Several spells of showers will occur in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle.
Showers or thundershowers will develop at several places in the other sea areas around the island after 2 pm. Winds will be Southwesterly and speed will be 30-40 kmph. Sea area off the coast from Mannar to Kankesanthurai via Jaffna will be rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 60 kmph at times, the Met Dept. further states.
