The Met Dept. says cloudy skies with showery weather is expected over the south-western part of the island due to the convergence of monsoonal wind.
Also showers will occur at times in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces. Heavy rain falls (about 100mm) are also expected at some places. Thundershowers may develop at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces during the period from 2 pm to 8 pm.
Southwest monsoonal winds can strengthen up to 50-60 kmph at times over the country (particularly over central hills) and suburb sea areas.
