The sea area extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankesanthurai and the sea area extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 60 kmph at times. The other sea areas around the island will be fairly rough at times, the Met Dept. says.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota. Showers or thundershowers can be expected at a few places in the other sea areas during the afternoon or evening.
Winds will be South-westerly and speed will be 30-40 kmph. Wind speed can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times.
