These devotees including women and children are scheduled to reach Kataragama via Maskeliya, Hatton, Nuwara Eliya, Welimada, Bandarawela, Thanamalwila and Lunugamvehera. The Pada Yathra will last ten days. The distance of their journey will be 396 kilometres.
This is an ancient tradition followed by these devotees to join in the Kataragama Perahera. This group said that they will be receiving food and drinks from persons on either side of their route to Kataragama.
