    June 19, 2015

Pregnant mothers should seek prompt medical treatment for flu like symptoms if their condition does not improve within 48 hours,Epidemiology Unit sources said.

Complications can develop in them if they get infected with Influenza AH1N1 due to certain reasons such as low immunity level, reduced lung capacity etc. Pneumonia can develop in persons who are vulnerable. Pregnant mothers, elderly over 60 years, children below two years, persons with diabetes, chronic obstructive airways disease, heart diseases are in the high risk group. Symptoms appear within one week of infection, the sources added.
