A special project for the improvement of rural roads in Rathgama electorate in Galle was launched recently, under the patronage of Media Minister Gayantha Karunathilake.
The road network, 197 km in length, includes four dilapidated village roads.
The rural road improvement project was initiated by Highways Ministry and Road Development Authority under the direction of Highways Minister Kabeer Hashim on the guidance of President Maitripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
