Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea area around the island during the afternoon and night, the Met Dept. forecasts.. Showers or thundershowers will occur in the sea area extending from Mannar to Galle via Colombo during the morning too.
Winds will be westerly and speed will be 20-40 kmph. However, there can be temporarily localized strong winds during thundershowers. Wind speed can increase up to 70-80 kmph at times in the sea area extending from Mannar to Galle via Colombo.
Sea area around the island will not be rough, but can become temporarily rough during thundershowers.
