Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena is expected convene a national-level meeting on the 31st of this month to address the fishermen conflict with India.
Tamil National Alliance Leader R. Sampanthan has said that the meeting chaired by the President will define Sri Lanka's position on the fishermen issue, and will examine ways to engage with India on the matter
Northern Province Chief Minister, Fisheries Ministers from the Centre and the Province, TNA parliamentarians representing Jaffna, Mannar, Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu and leaders of fishermen's associations will attend the meeting.
